Prayer for the week
Merciful Lord, grant to your faithful people pardon and peace, that we may be cleansed from all our sins and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

Time Out
Today's Gospel sees Jesus taking time out. Even though many are seeking him for his healing powers and his teaching, even though he has a wonderful opportunity to spread the word of the Kingdom, he knows that he must spend time alone in the presence of his heavenly Father. So he takes himself away to a quiet place. When his disciples find him they urge him to return but he now knows that he must move on.
There can be no doubt that we too need to take time out to be alone with God in order to get our priorities right, that God's ways might be our own ways.
When did you last take time out to be still in the Presence of the Lord? Perhaps you might resolve to prioritise such a time in your own daily schedule.
