 Keeping us in touch with the wider world ...For more information please contact: Sheila George 01358 725260 "The Global Group seeks to be a link between the parish and the wider world church scene in a variety of ways. We seek to develop the official links we have with the parishes of:All Saint’s, Ngcobo, South Africa,and St Paul’s Connecticut, USA. At present we also support the work of: The United Mission to Nepal; The Papua New Guinea Church Partnership; and the Episcopal School , Ramallah, Palestine and Kreativity Ukraine. The Global Group is also very involved in issues of world justice and peace. It has given strong support to the Fairtrade campaign and some of its members were instrumental in establishing Ellon as a Fairtrade town, the first in NE Scotland. Christian Aid too is an organisation we have been much involved in. We seek to inform the congregation and the wider community of the place of the church in global issues and to encourage participation in making a difference where we can. Everyone is welcome.We also supported Mary Gardner, Wycliffe Bible Translators, in Togo, West Africa. Sadly Mary was killed by a terrorist bomb in Jerusalem in April 2011. We commend her to God and pray for her family. |
